Return to Jamsil

It's been almost 20 years since I last was in Jamsil, and 34 years to the day that I first arrived in Korea, my home for the first two years of my life.

I was overcome with this profound sense of nostalgia as I visited my old neighborhood.

I had come to Jamsil to go to the Lotte Tower, but it was just as much about returning to my old neighborhood as it was visiting the tallest building in Korea. 

It also gave me the chance to return to writing for the Korea Times and my inaugural column, Morning Calm Tales. Actually, it was a series that I first wrote, back in 2002 to 2006.

It's good to be back. In more ways than one.
